Carl E. Hill, 73, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born November 27, 1947 in Clinton, OK and moved to Arkansas in 1962. He worked at Planters Peanuts for 38 years as a mechanic. He loved fishing and bowling and was on the Angler’s Bowling League at Bowling World. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Helen Hill; a sister, Annette and a brother, Jake.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susie Hill of the home; two daughters, Loretta Ashley of Oklahoma, Brandi Gurulé and her husband Jesse of Van Buren; two sons, George Miller of Van Buren, Tim Miller and his wife Ann of Nebraska; two sister, Misty Hensley of Alma, Katie Anderson of Muldrow, OK; two brothers, Mark Hill and his wife Donna of Mulberry, Tony Hill of Florida and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Gurulé, Wilbur Young, Josh Whaley, Jaramie Miller, David Horn and Tom Hensley.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
