Mary Elizabeth Baker

101 years, born Mary Elizabeth Williams, May 27th, 1921, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of Joseph and Mary Williams, passed away peacefully on November 14th at home in Upland. Mary and F. C. “Clarence” Baker were married in December, 1944, and together for 61 years until his passing in 2006. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary raised five children, Suzanne (Attaway), Fran (Firestone), John, Laura, and Richard, and was a loving and inspirational influence in the lives of her grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren. Mary made a home for her family in Ft Wayne and in Wichita Falls, TX, before moving to Upland, Ca in 1957. Revered and loved by all who knew her, Mary was a homemaker of exceptional talent, with a wonderful sense of humor and a lovely singing voice. She treasured her friends and family and shared her beautiful smile with all. Her last days were filled with love and companionship. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, daughter Fran, and son John. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Dec 21st, at Stone Funeral Home, 355 E Ninth St, Upland.
