Nancy Johnson was born on July 30, 1961 to Mary Areta Johnson and Raymond “Red” Johnson Jr., in Minnesota. She is remembered as a friend, wife, sister, and aunt. Her daughter Samantha and son Carl Lavell will always remember her as a warm friend and dedicated mother. Her husband Derrick will remember her as a true soul mate and fun-loving “partner in crime.”
Nancy loved a good winding road trip, a big belly laugh, a hot cup of coffee, and sharing memories and stories with friends and family. She was an artist and crafter. Making things with her hands was a joy that kept her creative and inspired throughout her life.
She was a rock when you needed steady ground, a shoulder to lean on when you needed strength, and a quiet confidant when you needed an ear. She believed in the fight for the rights of others and in building a more inclusive future. Her kindness and beautiful spirit will live on in those loved ones she leaves behind.
She was an unforgettable, irreplaceable woman and force of nature. Nancy will be dearly missed and the hole left in our hearts will be a legacy we gladly bear; for she was a treasure to all who knew her. She departed from us peacefully on December 16th, 2021.
Nancy adored the beaches of Hawaii and will find her resting place among its breathtaking mountains and gorgeous shores. The word “aloha” is a greeting, a good-bye, and refers to a kind of love and fellowship. She would want to wish you all a deeply felt “Aloha, until we meet again."
A memorial service for Nancy will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, Texas 78148.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.colonialuniversal.com for the Johnson family.
