Esther was born September 18, 1947, in Floresville, Texas, to Frank & Mary Alley. As a graduate of Floresville HS, she was an active and popular student. During her senior year, she was the Head Cheerleader, voted "Friendliest" and Senior Class Favorite.
She had dreams of traveling the world and marrying a military man afforded her that luxury. She went on to live in Virginia, Colorado, Norway & the United Kingdom and visit countries all over the world before returning home to TX in 1989.
For a large part of her life, Esther worked inside the home as a full-time wife & mother. She took great joy in caring for her family and never missed an opportunity to provide them a home-cooked meal, a well-timed hug or a word of encouragement. Somehow she managed a home, her family, found time to be actively involved in her daughters' extra-curricular activities and never had a hair out of place.
As her daughters got older, she became anxious to find work outside the home. She met many wonderful friends during her time with Eisenhauer Bank, Worldwide Locator & Goodwill Industries before her "retirement". She quickly realized how much she enjoyed working, so she returned to the workforce as a part-time teacher with Mothers Day Out (MDO) at Cornerstone Church. She flourished in that role and considered it an honor to teach her class of toddlers about God's unfailing love.
In her spare time, Esther loved to read the Bible, dance, have marathon phone conversations with her family and friends, watch reality TV with her daughters and take their RV to Garner State Park with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles; 2 daughters Kimberly & Kelly; 2 sisters Sophia, Gloria (and spouse Rafael); 2 brothers, Leandro, Joe (and spouse Silvia); 1 sister-in-law, Tina; and countless other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Frank Alley; her niece, Erica Smith & her brother, Ray Alley.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas.
