Mary “Helen” Hidalgo, 66, a lifelong resident of Roswell, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 18, 2012. Helen passed peacefully in her sleep in San Antonio, Texas. A rosary will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 7 p.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church. A Catholic Mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church at which the Rev. Charlie Martinez will officiate, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m., at South Park Cemetery. Helen was born in Clayton, Dec. 20, 1945, to Rubel and Maria Trujillo, who preceded her in death. She fell in love and married Gregorio D. Hidalgo, of Roswell, on May 4, 1967. He also preceded her in death. Helen was preceded in death by brothers, Rudy Trujillo, Joe “Tacho” Trujillo, Felix Trujillo and Lee Roy Trujillo; and a sister Louise “Olie” Trujillo. Helen is survived by her nine children whom she loved very much, Kathleen Trujillo, of Roswell, Greg Hidalgo and his wife Tina, Larry Hidalgo, Bernadette Thompson and her husband Matthew, Daniel Hidalgo and his wife Gina, Ronald Hidalgo and his wife Hilda, Robert Hidalgo, of San Antonio, Texas, Phillip Gutierrez and his wife Angie, of Los Angeles, and Roy Gutierrez and his wife Teri, of Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored with all of her heart; sisters, Beatrice Mireles and her husband Benny, of Douglas, Wyo., Ruby Gonzalez and Hazel Trujillo, of Roswell; brothers, Joe Trujillo and his wife Mary, of Lovington, and Tony Trujillo and his wife Flora, of Las Cruces; and numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews.
