Jeanne Fink passed away on July 20, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born on July 18, 1931 in Abilene, TX to Willard and Bertha (Compte) Sampson. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 62 years, Robert Lee “Bob” Fink; and brother,Tommy Sampson; survived by her daughter, Susan Ganz and her husband, Greg; son, Robert Fink and his wife, Barbara; brother, Johnnie Sampson (Cecilia); sister, Jerrilyn Flores; five grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Fink and Anton, Denis and Alanna Ganz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne retired from civil service as a budget analyst with the U.S. Air Force after beginning her career as a typist in 1969. Upon retirement, Jeanne and her husband enjoyed traveling internationally. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Universal City where she taught Sunday School to two- to five-year-olds for many years, and served on the Personnel Committee. She was an avid reader of murder mysteries, excellent seamstress and baker. She often sewed doll clothes and donated them to charity and regularly baked pies and cookies for the local animal shelter. She loved Spurs’ basketball and was a charter member of the San Antonio Stars fan club. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road in Universal City, Texas. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, located at 1401 Pat Booker Road, Universal City, TX. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 A.M. located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road.
