I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of my childhood buddy. Spenny and I attended the same elementary school and often hung out with the same friends on the weekend. One time a group of us were riding bikes and I ended up wrapped around my bike after my brakes broke as I went flying down into a ditch. I didn’t break anything, but I was in bad condition. Everyone else kept riding, but Spenny turned around, picked me up, and helped me get back up the hill so I could go home. He even offered to walk me to my doorstep, but my pride got the best of me and I told him to ride on. I know that I thanked him, but I’m not sure if he ever knew how much that simple act of kindness really meant to me. It’s probably been about 29 years since that day, but it’s a moment in my life that I have never forgotten. Sometimes it really is the small things in life that stick with us and mean the most. Rest in peace old friend. Thanks for being there for me and having my back when we were kids. Prayers of healing to all of his friends and loved ones.

My heart goes to the family of one of my best friends I've ever had the luck of knowing...Jason was one of the real ones and was an all around great guy. All the way back to Kitty Hawk Junior High playing football, I remember his flat top crew cut to Judson, he was one of best linemen n could hold his own against the biggest defensive lines...we also worked hard @ the commissary on base n he knew how to play just as hard...we had fun growing up n even though our lives went in our own direction, God gave us a chance to catch up n relive some of our glory days. Its funny the way things work out in life because him and I were kindred spirits in a way...we both had that free and independent spirit that no one could hold down. He helped remind me that there is more to life than being a part of the daily grind n helping others that can't help themselves is a passion we had to keep in our thoughts...Thanx Jason, u were a great friend and u will b surely missed. My condolences go out to his mother and father and brother...i hope u can b @ peace knowing that he was one of the good ones n didn't live with anger or hate in  his heart. Y'all raised a child of God n his spirit is free now and forever.
