Gloria A. Peterson, a native of San Antonio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 3, 2022. Born on January 17, 1949, to Pete and Bertha Trujillo, Gloria was a tenth-generation descendant of San Antonio’s first Canary Island settlers.
Gloria graduated from Edgewood High School in 1967 and spent many years working in civil service. An avid lover of her family, plants, and nature, and always willing to help anyone she could, Gloria will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Gloria is survived by her husband Pedro; son Marcus Trujillo and wife Chris; son Pedro Peterson III; daughter Carmen and husband Nick Perry; daughter Rosa Peterson; son Raul Peterson and wife Lia; brother Richard Trujillo and wife Irene; along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on March 8, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
