2 brothers. George is survived by his beloved wife of over 72 years, Wanda; daughter Linda Prater and husband Richard; grandsons Sam Prater and wife Talia, and Nick Prater and wife Kimberly; great granddaughters Macey, Kamryn, Emerson, Berkley and Liana.
George spent a career in the USAF, retired and started his own business in Real Estate. He excelled in his military and real estate careers and had a tireless work ethic exemplifying one of his favorite sayings “Good, better, best, Never let it rest, Til your good is better , and your better is best.” He was a member of the American Legion, life member of DAV and Randolph Masonic Lodge. Active in the community, George served on Universal City Council, was a member of the Rotary Club and local Chamber of Commerce for many years. George served as President of San Antonio Board of Realtors, President of Texas Board of Realtors and Vice President of National Association of Realtors. He was a Master Mason for more than 50 years, member Scottish Rites, Alzafar Shrine and an active member of the golf unit for many years.
There was no limit to the amount of time, talent and treasure that George would sacrifice to courageously serve his God, his country, his community, his real estate clients and his family and friends. George dearly loved his family and laid down his life for their needs, especially for his beloved wife of almost 73 years Wanda. Battling life circumstances and health issues that come with the blessings of a long and active life he was an inspiring example of courage, strength, truth, wisdom, perseverance, loyalty and love giving credit and glory to the Lord for getting him through each day.
