Donna Raye McDowell

Donna was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on September 4, 1945, to Melvin Eugene Harrelson and Marvel May Work. There she graduated from Clinton High School. Donna later moved to Texas where she enrolled in New Braunfels Nursing School and would graduate as top of her class. Having a deep love for animals, Donna worked for many years as a Veterinary Technician at Schertz Animal Hospital. She raised cocker spaniels of all colors and would win champion with her prize chocolate’s. Donna was also a collector of fine Fostoria Glass, of which she had hundreds of pieces. Her appreciation for crafts did not limit itself to merely collecting, as she herself would make many porcelain dolls throughout her wonderful life.

Donna is preceded in death by, her parents Melvin Eugene Harrelson and Marvel May Harrelson, brother Steven Max Harrelson and son Charles Ray Carney.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a loving husband of 57 years, Ray L. McDowell, two sons, Donald Lee McDowell and Melvin Douglas Carney, daughter-in-law Joely Kim Carney, and her three beloved grandchildren, Marlee Caitlin Carney, Dalton Garret Carney and Dillon Reese Carney.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all their friends and relatives for the love and support they have been shown in their time of need.
