Just read this about Carl. Am saddened with the loss. I served in the military with Carl at Randolph AFB. He was a mentor to me during those years. I also worked with him when assigned to the Queen Bee operations there for many more years.  He was the driving force for LSI and I, the U.S Air Force and butted heads many a time. My wife and I spent many days/hours with Carl and wife away from our jobs. I will meet up again with Carl in Heaven in due time. We will pick up where we left off, I promise.

Mr. Walker was always such a kind soul, courteous to us all, and always willing to share a joke and a smile. His love and care for "Pete" (his beloved dog)  is unmatched .  The bond between him and "Pete" we as a staff at his vet clinic, and myself personally , got to witness was inspiring and truly an example of great love between a man and Man's best friend. I hope to continue seeing "Pete" as another reminder of the Great person Carl was and the kind of love we hope to continue seeing in the world. I wish to express my deepest sympathy to his loved ones for the loss of this Great Man . 

To the Walker family: Please accept my condolences for your loss.  Carl was a friend and my boss when I worked for him at LSI.  A Man with a great sense of humor,  million dollar smile and "Groucho Marks" eyebrows.  I will never forget what he did to help me out of difficult situations while working for him. I was so sorry to hear about Carl's passing, he was a one of a kind man. I first met Carl when I was in the Air Force in 1988, used to visit him on the south ramp when I worked at Hq ATC. That is when I got to know him. I hired on with LSI in July of 1991 working in Rig & Op's.  At first I really didn't have much personal contact with Carl, but during the coming years through promotions I got to know him pretty well. He was a great man to work for, very smart hard working man. We had our run ends, but always saw eye to eye in the end. He taught me a lot about the inner workings of a depot and I will be forever grateful for the things he did to help me move on with my career.  He will be missed by so many people who's lives he touched.  Rest in peace Carl!

I went to work for LSI in 1978. That that is when I met Carl Walker one of the nicest men I could ever meet. He always treated me with respect took me took me under his wing and made sure I was taken care of at LSi. I went to a Christmas party one year and he and his wife were there I had a cute little Santa pin on my outfit and his wife fell in love with it I took it off and I gave it to her. After his wife died he went to her jewelry box he saw that little Santa pin sitting right on top and got it out of the box and gave it back to me one day at work we both shed a tear and a smile, I still have it to this day. Very very well-educated man that stood his ground and took care of business. He so loved his family and would do anything for them. And yes Erna was his world. Rest in peace my boss my friend you will always be remembered and missed.

June 6, 2020 was a sad day for all of us old LSI boys!  With a heavy heart I give my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.  I first met Carl in 1981 when I hired on with LSI.  Through the years I and many other LSI mechanics went on a lot of road trips.  One of these trips I will never forget.  Before we would leave on a trip we always had our little "Pow Wow" with Carl.  On this particular trip in Carls office he preceded to lecture us on professionalism, etc, etc, don't stay out all night at the bars.  Once he was done with his lecture, I said OK DAD.  He jumped out of his chair grabbed me by the shirt (broke 2 buttons) and said don't ???? with me.  I looked him square in the eyes and told him, listen you old fart you better sit down and relax because if you grab me like that again your not going to like what happens.  After a short pause, still locking eyes, he smiled, shock his head and then sat down.  After this incident we seemed to get along much better.  On return from our road trip Carl called us to his office.  We all got ready for another "Pow Wow", Ha Ha.  In his office he preceded to tell all of us how proud he and Al (Nichols) were of us.  Carl said he loved answering the phone when the other T-38 bases would call for our help.  He said you guys don't know how nice it is to have these kind of bragging rights.  My guys are the baddest of the bad!  Carl is one of my top mentors.  Gonna miss you Boss!

He was mentor and a very caring individual. He will be missed, and his legacy will go on. I am very grateful to have had the pleasure to work with him, and know him on a personal level. Prayers for his family in their time of need. 

I'm so sorry to hear of Carl's passing. I started working with him 40 years ago at LSI.  He was a very intelligent man and helped me to advance my career.  He was also a good friend and would spend time with me whenever I needed help personally as well.  We worked in the same office for several years and I respected him very much.  He wasn't above playing pranks on me though. While work was #1, we could laugh and have a good time too.  My heart is breaking for his children and their families. I'm sure he is rejoicing now with his beloved Erna, who he adored and missed everyday for 15 years. Thank you Carl for being my mentor and friend so long ago.  Rest in peace!

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to leave a condolence for Carl. My relationship with Carl goes back to 1970. Back in those days he was a Master sergeant in charge of Talon 1 on Randolph AFB. I was a sergeant working in post dock and routinely dealt with Carl . The next time I saw him was in Nov 1977 when I hired on with LSI and he was a senior lead man in hangar 40. I continued to work for him as my direct line manager until I left LSI in Dec 1996. Carl was a great guy to work for and I certainly miss the times I worked with him. I will always remember him as a dear friend . Rest In Peace old friend and thanks for the memories.

I want to give you my deepest sympathy for your loss and I have you and your family in my prayers.
I've known Carl since 1986. I got to know him personally when I became Production Supervisor in 2002 and we shared many hours together since our offices were next to each other with only a thin wall dividing us. He was a great boss and person once you got to know him and his little quirks and manner of speaking. He took me under his wing and taught me what to do and say to get things done and also always wanted me to be the public speaker because he hated to speak in crowds. He would rely on me to remember things because of my ability to retain information and details. He will be remembered by many because he spent many wonderful years with LSI and all the people that came and went thru all those years. He was always looking out for Jay and he would ask me if I had a spot for him and made sure he had a job.

Carl is survived by his daughter Korrina Burton &amp; husband Gary; son Carl Jay Walker &amp; wife Marsha; Grandchildren, Samuel Kinard &amp; spouse, Carl Justin Walker &amp; spouse, Joshua Conwell Walker &amp; spouse, &amp; Brooke A. Privette; &amp; six great-grandchildren.
