Walter J. Bukowski

Walter J. Bukowski (Wladzu), 88, of Union, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Easter Sunday, April 8th 2012. Funeral will be held from the McCracken Funeral home 1500 Morris Ave., Union on Thursday April 12th at 9 AM with a mass being offered at St. Casimir's Church, Newark at 10 AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington will follow. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Walter was born in Jersey City in 1923 and raised in Newark. He was employed by Kondak Engineering and later by Monsanto Chemical Company as a master mechanic.

He was a proud Veteran of World War II and served in the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was the loving husband of the late Jean (Genia) who passed away in August 2011. They were married for 62 years. Walter was the loving father of Cheryl Lentini and her husband Charlie and Wendy Bukowski and her fiance Bob Murnane. He was also the adored grandfather of Bria MacIntosh. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
