Victoria “Vickie” was born December 23, 1933, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Delores and Isabel Torres.
She met the love of her life in the 1960’s and married in 1964 and spent the next 58 years building a wonderful and memorable life with her husband before his death in 2021. They raised two sons: Michael and Charlie and one daughter Eliza.
She has seven siblings: Dolores, Anita, Mari, Iris, Emilio, and Carmillio. She leaves behind four grandchildren, four great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
During Victoria’s early teenage years she left Puerto Rico for a better life in the United States. While in the United States, she worked at various factories and retired in her 50s. The remaining years she was a homemaker. While a homemaker she worked hand and hand with her husband doing repair work around the three-family house. Victoria and her husband were never apart. Whatever her husband was doing, she was next to him providing support.
Victoria’s greatest joy was sitting around the dinner table or an outside table in the yard during the summer with family and friends eating, drinking homemade wine, and telling stories of her youth, listening to old folk Spanish music, and dancing to the music. Victoria had a passion for caring for dogs/cats whether family-owned or stray. Victoria was kind, caring, funny, dependable, and a very strong person when life threw her a curb ball. She was most known for being an amazing mother and caregiver to her family as well as friends that needed a helping hand to improve their lives in the United States.
