Tim was born in Orange New Jersey, the son of Peg (nee Lawless) and the late Al Ambacher. The youngest of 3, he was raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark , then moved to Union in 1972, residing there until his passing. Tim was an alumni of Union High School (1984) He was an employee of PSE&G for 37 years rising from an engineering assistant to Division operations Manager at the time of his retirement in 2021. For the past 6 years he was also the owner of Joe’s Place, a neighborhood bar and restaurant in Union. Tim was named Irish person of the year in 2020 by the Cryan Association, headed up the Union Center Special Improvement district , and was a member of the Italian American club. Tim’s greatest gift however may have been his unmatched ability to make every person who met him, stepped into his bar or at one of the many events in Union Center feel as if they’d known him forever. One of Tim’s favorite things to say when he wasn’t leading the bar in impromptu sing alongs or having bagpipers play in it during the St Patrick’s parade, was that Family mattered, and that he had the greatest one in the world. We all agree.
Tim is survived by his mother, also of Union, his brother Bill (Linda) of Chandler Arizona, sister Donna of Union, nephew Ryan (Carolyn) of Chandler AZ, and their children Shane and Taron, nieces Jocelyn Hutton (Ken) and their children Jacob and Shawn of Clark, Brittany Buchanan (Joe Giambusso) of Branchburg and Lauren Kingston (Sam) of Coalgate, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his fiancée Michele Mikros.
