Ronald John Hill

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m and on Saturday, September 1st from 9-9:45 a.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A service will be offered at St. Michael’s Church, Union on Saturday, at 10:15 a.m. with interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

Beloved husband of Romanna Mechnycz Hill. Cherished son of the late Frederick Hill and Norine Bellisano. Loving brother of Bernita Hill and her life partner Walter Wempa, and Frederick Hill and his wife Eileen. Dear brother-in-law of Burton and Odarka Vincent. Loving son-in-law of Irene Mechnycz. Adored uncle of Freddy Hill and Patti Hill and her life partner Michael Walski; grand-uncle of Julian, Tabitha, and Trinity.

Ron worked as a ramp supervisor for Porter Airlines at Newark Liberty International Airport, where on March 31, 2008 he marshaled in the first ceremonial flight arrival of the Porter Airlines Bombardier Q400 Aircraft. He had a good and loving heart and was very dedicated to his family and friends. He also loved nature and was a strong supporter of the Military, US Army. Ron touched the hearts of many through his illness and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family is grateful to all who showed him kindness and love during his illness, especially the staff at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
