Longtime resident of the Ironbound section of “Down Neck” Newark. Master Electrician with IBEW Locals 52 and 164. Member, past President and Chaplain of the Ironbound Irish American Association of Newark. Member and supporter of Howard F. Schwartz Post #408 American Legion in Newark.
Son of Rose and Joseph Glynn (deceased). He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra (Welgus), daughter Tara, son Bryan, daughter-in-law Brandi, grand-daughter and his “special girl” Natalia, his pride and namesake grandson Oliver Richard, his favorite aunt Jackie Nosek, and will be missed by his “furry girl” Ebony.
Loving uncle to Larry & Heidi Tavaska, Eva (Sissy) Tavaska, JR Reiger and Toni Rose Spira, Richard Glynn, Christopher Glynn, and Ashlee Meyer.
Preceded by Carol Ann Tavaska and brother-in-law Fran, brothers John and Joseph (husband of Bonnie, living), sister-in-law Cathy Meyer (wife of John, living)
He will be sorely missed by many cousins, friends, and more.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St Aloysius Church, 66 Fleming Ave, Newark at 11:00am followed by burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
