Nelson James Federico

Nelson was born in Newark, NJ the son of Julia and Ralph Federico. His family moved to Hillside, NJ where he attended and graduated from Hillside High School.

He was employed by the American Can Company, in Hillside and then Edison, as a production line mechanic for 38 years and retired in 1995.

Nelson enjoyed working with his hands and was very capable, particularly with carpentry and automotives. He also liked working with electronics, including fixing old computers and laptops to give away to others. He was a very generous and charitable person. He enjoyed music in his quiet times and was always happy to spend time with his family.

Nelson is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Ann, of 60 years, and his devoted children, son, Jim Federico of Bridgewater, daughter, Lauren Boyer and son-in-law Chuck of Pennsylvania, and his sister Marilyn Scarola of Union, NJ. He was predeceased by his brothers, Norman Federico of Kenilworth and Ralph R. Federico of Union.

A visitation for Nelson will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
