Michael A. D’Aloia, 92, of West Orange, NJ passed away on Sunday August 30, 2015 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 103 South Center Street, Orange, NJ. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
Beloved son of the late Cono D’Aloia and his wife Louisa (Brezany) D’Aloia. Loving husband of Angela (Proietto) D’Aloia for a wonderful 63 years. He was predeceased by his brother John D’Aloia and sisters Lillian Torlucci, Anna Mignone, Dorothy Venezia and Rose Toia. Devoted father to Michael G. D’Aloia, David D’Aloia and his wife Colleen Duffy, Louise Manniello and her husband Phillip, and Mark D’Aloia and his wife Julie. Doting grandfather to Justin, Kristen, Victoria, and Erica D’Aloia, and Dana and Leah Manniello. There are many nieces and nephews who loved him as well.
Michael was born and raised in Orange, NJ and in 1969 moved to West Orange with his family where he spent the rest of his life. He was a graduate of Orange High School class of 1941. He worked all of his life as a master carpenter and then for the Federal Government in Newark where he had built several courtrooms. After retiring he would always keep busy working on all of his kids’ houses! He loved to golf, but most of all he loved telling stories…at which he truly excelled. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Orange attending Sunday mass every week for the last 90 years.
