Kathleen Rattigan

Kathleen was born in Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, Ireland to the late Mary Kate and Luke Conneely. She emigrated to Elizabeth, NJ in 1973 where she lived the rest of her life. She married her husband John in 1977 and worked at Wakefern before staying home to raise her children. When her children were older, she worked as an administrative assistant at Schering Plough and Aventis Pharmaceuticals.

Kathleen was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Genevieve’s Church. She loved her family, Irish heritage and her dogs. Kathleen was a dedicated wife, mother and proud grandmother before falling victim to Alzheimer’s disease.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband John, of Elizabeth, NJ, her son John and daughter-in-law (Dr.) Meghan Rattigan, and her daughter Deirdre and son-in-law Matthew Hoctor. She leaves behind three grandchildren; Colin and Keira Rattigan and Kate Hoctor.

Kathleen is also survived by her 8 siblings; Maureen McGee of Union, NJ and Rita Conneely, Ann Kearney, Michael Conneely, Joseph Conneely, Oliver Conneely, Margaret Joyce and John Conneely of Ireland, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held on May 6, 2020 at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
