Joan Gentile

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church, Union, on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, N.J. The family will receive their friends at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave. Union, on Monday, June 2, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Born in East Orange, Joan moved to Spotswood with her husband Charlie where they raised their 3 children. Joan was a member of the Senior Club of Union. She was a fan of all sports and, in particular, was an avid Yankee fan. Joan enjoyed visiting the Atlantic City casinos and the Jersey shore. She also loved to cook and bake and, most importantly, Joan loved to be with her family.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Gentile and her siblings Sal, Mike, Emil, Louie, Lucian and Lucille. Joan is survived by her devoted children, Gregory and Mary Ann Gentile, Tracy and Bob Baran, and Cheryl Collins and Ken; she was the loving grandmother of April, Bobby, Willie, and Terry. She is also survived by her dear sister Ann Torpy and sister in law Connie Russoniello and many loving nieces and nephews.
