Barbara's family lived in Union. She was born in Irvington Hospital, went to St. Joseph's Elementary School, and Union High School. Upon graduation, her first job was a secretary at Bell Labs in Berkeley Heights NJ. In 1966 she married Albert Lilley and they moved to Philadelphia. She got a job at IBM in center city Philadelphia while AI had a teaching fellowship at Temple University to pursue a Master's degree.
Barb and AI moved again in 1967 to Sayreville NJ. As AI was offered a teaching and coaching position at the new Colonia Senior High School. Barbara's first son, Thomas, was born Sept. 5, 1967. Two years, later the family moved back to Union, where Barbara and AI first met at Union High School.
Barbara became a stay-at-home mom with 3 boys: Thomas, Stephen, and Daniel. Barbara went back to work at Bell Labs in 1979 and retired in 2006. She had many parties with her friends at her home in Alexandria, NJ. She was active in St. Edward's Church in Milford, Tabby’s Place Cat Sanctuary, The Red Hats, and clerk at public elections. She enjoyed her homes on Cape Cod, and Kerr Lake at Clarksville Va., and vacations in Aruba. She is survived by her husband of 54 years AI, sons Thomas, Stephen, and Daniel; Daughter-in -laws Kim and Kelly; and grandchildren; Mathew, Skyler, Lexi, Tyler, and Sawyer.
