Welcome to October! It is probably the month that provides the most change. The temperatures do begin to fall, albeit gradually, from that of those beach-lovin' HOT days to many folks having to say: "Hey, where's my sweater?" in the early morning. Brrr-rrrrrr! Those angelic faces of the youthful children who board the giant, golden yellow school busses in early September, for another year of learning the 'how-to-do's' of Reading, ‘Riting, and 'Rithmetic, are transformed into that of ghosts, goblins, monsters, and superheroes — with blood-curdling shrieks of laughter, for want of the tasty sweet treats that lie in wait behind neighbor's door: TRICK OR TREAT! There is the noticeable change of the landscape as the various trees change from standard green to breathtaking reds, oranges, and yellows that blend and blur together to make any person look in awe. The last of the changes, which come from the official shift in summer season to that of autumn, is time! Days become shorter, and the dark comes earlier, that brings younger children to cut short the outdoor play after the dinner hour.
The month of October can, without question, be said to be a month of many changes.
However, one thing does not change, and that is the LOVE that was 'wholly' part of Anne Ambielli.
Anne Ambielli (nee: Angerame), born on October 14, 1927, was brought to her eternal rest on October 12, 2020. Anne is predeceased by her husband, Robert, of 52 1/2 years, who passed on in 2002. She is also predeceased by her sons Charles, in 2017 and Thomas, in 2019. Anne's legacy is survived in sons Robert and his wife Patricia, Michael and his wife Kathleen, daughter Elizabeth (Betsy), a daughter-in-law Susan Ambielli, wife of Thomas and her beloved grandchildren: Steven and his wife Michelle, Eric, and his wife Danielle, Brian, Lauren, Samantha, and Alyssa Ambielli. Also, six great-grandchildren: Austin, Bryce, Cara, Weston, Avery, and Mae Ambielli.
Anne Ambielli was born to her beloved parents, Charles and Blanche Angerame, and raised in Newark, NJ. She often shared her fond memories of buying and sharing penny candy and playing Monopoly with her brother, Charles Angerame, who predeceased her in 2013, and sister, Louise, who predeceased Anne in 1983. Anne, always with a thirst for knowledge, would tell of walking with her sister Louise to the well-known Newark Museum, or borrowing books from the Newark Public Library. In summer months, she and her sister would cool off from the heat of summer in the Boylan Street pool.
Anne attended Weequahic High School, Newark, NJ, from September 1941 to January 1944, stating that
Weequahic High School 'had academic excellence akin to that of a college education.’ Anne was able to
graduate high school early by taking the initiative to attend summer school classes. (Only later did she mention she did this so as to be able to attain employment and help her widowed mom.) Anne married her 'soul mate,' Robert, October 29, 1949. She and 'Bob' raised their five children in Irvington, NJ. In 1980, Anne and Bob moved to Union, NJ, where she lived for 33 happy years. Anne moved to Manchester with her daughter, Elizabeth, in 2013.
Anne's long and good life is credited to the many long-lasting friendships she formed in her youthful days in Newark and beyond Newark, the loving support of her soul mate, Robert, the love of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren. Family and friends, coupled with her Catholic Christian faith, were important to Anne, which she always persevered in attending to and sharing by way of being a Sunday School teacher and Principal in her Irvington parish of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. She was also a Sunday School teacher in the parish of Holy Spirit Church, Union, and was a member of the help support group, The Rosary Society of Holy Spirit Church, Union. Anne gave all of her life 100 percent devotion, as a wife, mom, aunt, friend, or in her chosen occupation as a legal secretary— for the reason of her first love — God!
Anne loved word games such as Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy — a testament to her passion for learning. While October may be the month of many changes in natural sight, Anne Ambielli's NEVER CHANGING strong faith in God, and adherence to the sanctifying graces of the One, Holy, Apostolic Catholic Christian Church, provides to all who understand — consolation that Anne (Angerame) Ambielli lives on eternally. Her extraordinary life of faith, and service to God, here on earth, magnified 100 times over!
A Visitation for Anne will be held on Thursday October 15th, 3-7 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Avenue, Union. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 971 Suburban Road, Union. Interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Kenilworth.
