Alice Rykowski (nee Andahazy) was born in Newark, NJ on April 2, 1928 to Walter and Alice Andahazy. She lived in the “Vailsburg" Section of Newark most of her life before moving to Union, NJ 40 years ago. She briefly worked for Galsworthy, Inc. Liquor Distributors and then married W. Ted Rykowski who predeceased her in 2008. They were married for 49 years. Alice chose not to work and devoted her life to her husband and her (2) children Michael and Bonnie as well as the family pet. She always had to have a rescue dog “to complete her family.” When living in Vailsburg, she was active with Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart School volunteering hours of her time. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and she impacted so many people with her kindness, zest for life and sense of humor. Alice loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her many friends and her “neighbor family." She will be greatly missed by her children Michael (Joanne) Rykowski and Bonnie Rykowski and her partner Mike Donaway plus her grandchildren Alexandra & (Enver) Vucetaj, Andrew Rykowski and Kimberly & (Brian) Hedges as well as her (4) great grandsons, Thaddeus, Oliver, Beau and Connor.
