Margo M Guglielmelli (nee, Yaccarino) age 82 of Union City, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30th after battling a long illness. She was born in Hoboken, NJ on May 29, 1941, to the late Margo (nee, Fiore) and Anthony (Dinty) Yaccarino.
After graduating High School in 1959, She worked as an IBM keypunch operator at Texaco Corporation and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. After giving birth to four children and raising them to school age, Margo worked numerous roles in the Union City Board of Education and retired as a devoted worker for 26 years. During retirement, Margo was an active volunteer at the St. Mary's Thrift Store in Hoboken and a member of the Advocate Auxiliary.
Margo dedicated her life to her family, relatives, friends and neighbors. Margo always though of others more than herself. She was known for her radiant smile and sparkling eyes. Margo's reach touched all with her kind heart and caring voice. Margo was a ray of light that lit up a room.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Matthew of 62 years, beloved children Nancy & William, Mark & Ann, Anthony & Michele, Matthew & Inez and her dear and adoring grandchildren Gabrielle, Lauren & James, Julia, Nicholas and Laura. Margo was predeceased in death by her brother Major Patrick Yaccarino and her sister Linda Greenhill.
Margo's celebration of Life will include a visiting on Thursday January 4th, from 2-8pm at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ. A funeral mass will be offered on Friday January 5th at 12:00pm at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 704 Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ. Margo will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.
