Carlos Arellano, 69, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away in his home on April 19, 2020. Born in Ecuador, he was a resident of Hoboken for many years before moving to Jersey City. Carlos was an employee of the Union City Housing Authority for the past 16 years. He was predeceased by his parents Augusto and Edilma, and siblings Manuel, Augusto, Edilma and Maruja. He is survived by his beloved wife Lourdes and stepson Bryan; his cherished children, Jesus (John) and wife Rosa, Carlo and wife Paola, Alicia and fiancee Michael; his loving grandchildren Joshua, Susy, Ashley, Ronny, Thais, Michaela and great granddaughter Anyla; his dear siblings Margarita, Victor and his wife Marizue, Emma and her husband Raphael and daughter Yesenia and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and enormous amount of friends. Carlos took pride in being the life of the party, enjoying the company of others, going to church, constantly pondering his retirement, speaking in a loud tone for no apparent reason, cooking with his shirt off, and wearing suits when not required. His pride and joy besides his grandchildren, was his food. He loved his Ecuadorian cuisine!
Due to CDC guidelines, private funeral services were conducted by Leber Funeral Home of Union City, NJ.
