Born in North Bergen, NJ to the late Mary & Charles Nassan, Al was a high school graduate of Dickinson High School, Jersey City. As a young man, Al was a paperboy, butcher, locksmith, plumber, electrician, and mechanic. These occupations led to his later work at Electric Pipeline and culminated in his 30 plus year career at Starrett Housing Authority in Brooklyn where he was Director of Utilities. Al always enjoyed the calm and solitude of the outdoors whether he was hunting, hiking, or just sitting on the porch of his log cabin. Al was also a lifelong tinkerer who loved working with his hands and always had a project. One of his prized projects was his Mustang which he bought new in 1965 and continued to maintain and drive until just a couple of years ago.
Al is predeceased by his brother David Nassan and sister Gladys Dadian. He is survived by his sons Mark Nassan, Matthew Nassan and Brian Nassan, his daughter Maureen Nassan and her husband Bob Seltsam; three grandchildren, Nicholas Nassan, Aidan Seltsam & Maeve Seltsam; great-grandson Elijah Nassan, step-granddaughters Eden & Rene Elkaslasy; sister Jeanne Kalogera; and many nieces and nephews.
