Oakdale-Mark E. Hillyer, age 68, of Oakdale, passed away on December 27, 2017 at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Glendale, CA to Dorothy (Meyring) Hillyer and the late Richard Lewis Hillyer. He married his loving wife Carol (Watkins) Hillyer on September 19, 1970 in Lansing, IL.
Mark was a veteran of the US Navy of a thirty year service. He was a Nuclear Machinist Mate retiring as a Master Chief.
He is survived by his wife Carol Hillyer of Oakdale, mother Dorothy Hillyer of Chatsworth, CA, a son Mark Richard Hillyer of Mansfield, a son Matthew T. Hillyer and his wife Tonja of Uncasville, and a son Adam J. Hillyer and his fiancé Alicia of Norwich. He also leaves behind a sister Debbie and her loving partner Terry of CA., ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
