John R. McQuown

John R McQuown, 76 years old, died on December 19th at Bride Brook Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 29th, 1942 in New London, CT, to the late John A McQuown and Marion (Molboski) McQuown. He attended New London High School. He was married to Lisa (Hewett) McQuown on November 12th, 1983 in their home. He worked at Electric Boat for 10 years, the Town of Montville and Waterford as the building official and Milestone for 24 years. He was a lifetime member of the Polish Club, American Legion Post 112 and was very passionate about drinking Budweiser. He is survived by his daughter Kelly (McQuown) and husband Karl Miller, daughter Christy (McQuown) and husband Larry Beverly, his sons Jeremy McQuown, Thomas Gingerella, Paul McQuown and his daughter Chelsea McQuown. He is also survived by his grandchildren Allyssa, Caitlyn, Austin and Carson. John is further survived by his sisters; Caroline (McQuown) Terry and husband Kenneth Terry., Claudia (McQuown) Haney and Jim., his brother; brother Richard McQuown, and wife Marie, as well as Aunts and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours/visitation will be held December 28th from 10-12 in the afternoon at Church & Allen in Montville, 53 Norwich/ New London Turnpike, in Uncasville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson’s research and the American Cancer Society.
