Wilda Lavenis Corey, age 95 passed away on Tuesday December 3, 2024, in Lindale, Texas. Mrs. Corey was born on March 18, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to Henry and Grace Delia Stevens. She was a homemaker and worked for Sam's Wholesale for 18 years.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband; Gene R. Corey, Sr and her son Gene R, Corey, Jr. She is survived by her children; Dennis E. Corey of Lindale, Texas, Russell A. Corey, of Concord, California, Cindy S. Hicks of Lindale, Texas and Douglas S. Corey of Blum, Texas. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Wilda was instrumental in many of her grandchildren coming to know the Lord. She exemplified Christs love and acceptance of others to anyone who became part of her family.
The family will receive friends and guests Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12:00 p.m., to 1:00 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery & Mausoleum, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, TX 75704. The service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. The family has requested a private graveside.
