Dr. Thomas L. Rose

Services for Dr. Thomas Lynn Rose, 72, of Fairfield, are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Steve Ditmore officiating. Burial is in Friendship Cemetery in Gladewater under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Tom passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014, in Fairfield.

He was born on December 1, 1941 in Gladewater, to Donald V. and Nellie A. Chamberlain Rose. Tom was a good friend to many people. After completing high school with exemplary grades, he and his closest friend, Glenn Marrs, Jr. joined the Air Force. Tom achieved rank of A1C and was an electronic technician on U2 spy planes during this time. He married Sandra K. Ford Rose and they were blessed with their son, Joe D.

Tom pursued an education and eventually was awarded with a PhD. He worked as an educational psychologist for Texas Prison Systems until his retirement.

Tom is survived by his mother, Nellie Rose, of Tyler; son, Joe Rose and his wife Dawn, of Huntsville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Rose; his brother, John L. Rose; and his wife, Sue Rose.
