Steve Layton Paxton, age 69, of Chandler, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Steve was born on Monday, February 25, 1952 in Beaumont, Texas to his parents, Warren and Mildred Paxton.
Steve was a good husband, father and grandfather. He believed in honesty and integrity. He lived the way he believed. He and his wife, Donna Paxton were married June 9th, 1973. Together they welcomed their son, Wes Paxton on January 5th 1977. They were the most important part of his life. Steve mentored and coached many young boys throughout the years in youth baseball and football in Huffman, Texas. He was well respected by his work colleagues and peers. He began working at the chemical plant in Channelview, Texas in 1978 as Instrument Technician and retired as Maintenance / Reliability Specialist from LyondellBasell in 2008. Steve enjoyed fishing his whole life and really had the opportunity to fish more with his son and grandson after he retired. He liked remote control air planes, riding motorcycles, and working in his greenhouse. He also enjoyed playing guitar, listening to John Prine, and playing computer games. Steve will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and those who knew him.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Donna; son, Wes and his wife Telina Paxton; grandchildren, Kane Layton Paxton, Deklen Kearney and Ireland Kearney; and three sisters, Leeda Luciano, Melanie Gworek, and Judy Ahlm.
In honor of Steve's wishes, the family will hold a small gathering at a later date. Thank you to all for your thoughts and prayers!
