Skylar Paige Standefer, 22, went to be with Jesus, her precious Lord and Savior on August 30, 2014. She was born in Coppell, Texas on November 30, 1991. She graduated from Grace Community High School and The University of Texas at Austin.
Although, her beautiful smile was the first thing you noticed, it was her loving and giving heart that endeared her to others. She never met a stranger. She was the most genuine and welcoming girl that you would ever meet. She brightened any room she entered and her joyful, excited greeting would melt your heart.
Family was the most important thing in her life. When Skylar’s parents asked her what she wanted to do for her twenty-first birthday, she said she would rather spend time with family than friends. She was a special part of each person’s life in her family, from her grandparents to her younger cousins.
She is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Susan and Scot Standefer, her brother Colt, grandparents Bill and Rickey Fisher, aunts and uncles Jill Shelton, Gail and Harris Nobles, Kim Fisher, Lynn and Fred Standefer, Rhoni and Grant Standefer, numerous cousins, and the love of her life, Patrick Hogan.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the chapel at Grace Community Church, 3215 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas, 75701. The Reverend Grant Standefer will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make a Wish North Texas, 215 Winchester, Suite 109, Tyler, Texas 75701.
