Ruby Winolia Hannum, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on September 25, 2023. Born on January 12, 1944, in Clovis, NM, Ruby lived a life filled with love, adventure, and a deep connection to her family.
Ruby was a remarkable woman who embraced life with a positive outlook and a warm heart. She cherished her role as a mother, raising her four children, Danyelle Hannum, Richard Hannum, Renee Aldrin, and Robert Hannum. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Krystal Taylor, Amber Hannum, Becky Pierce, and Robert Hannum Jr., and numerous great-grandchildren.
An avid traveler, Ruby explored the world and the United States, creating memories and stories that she joyfully shared with her loved ones. She was a talented cook, seamstress, and craftswoman, finding joy in creating beautiful things. Ruby had a passion for reading, playing online games, and tending to her garden that bloomed with vibrant flowers, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, which brought her great delight. Her affection for cats was evident in the feline companions she cherished throughout her life.
Ruby's kind and giving nature extended beyond her family. She was an active member of the Hurst St Church of Christ in Center, TX, for over 20 years, where she found solace and community. Ruby embraced others with open arms, never failing to include them in her events and celebrations. Her company was a blessing to everyone she met, as she never met a stranger.
A family historian, Ruby carried the memories and stories of her loved ones, ensuring that their legacies were cherished and passed down through generations. She leaves behind footprints of love, kindness, and compassion, a testament to the impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
In honor of Ruby's love for the poem "Footprints in the Sand," she found comfort in the reminder that she was never alone. Even in the most challenging times, she believed she was carried by a higher power, leaving a lasting impression of love wherever she journeyed.
Ruby Winolia Hannum will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her unwavering positivity, inclusive spirit, and the love she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A a celebration of life for Ruby will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East 1st Street, Tyler. Following the a celebration of life will be a graveside service at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, 7825 S. Broadway Ave, Tyler.
