He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on April 29, 1939 to the late O.L. and Evelyn Smith. He married his best friend and love of his life, Patricia (Jones) Smith on October 5, 1968 in Dallas, Texas.
O.L. is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Deanna Smith Holcomb; and his brother, Michael Smith.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amanda Smith of Tyler, Texas; his grandchildren, Cameron and Haley Smith of Tyler, Texas; his sister, Nancy Smith Owsley of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; his sister, Patti Smith Chiarello of Dallas, Texas; 2 nephews and 1 niece.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Shiloh Road Church of Christ, 1801 Shiloh Road, Tyler, Texas 75703 with Mike Warner officiating. Funeral arrangements are with Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.
