Michael Dale Wyatt was born to John M. and Anice Clara Wyatt on November 20, 1948 in Tyler, Texas. He left this life on Thursday August 23, 2018 at his home in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike is survived by his children Jill Shuler and husband Kendall of Tyler, Texas, and Jeff Wyatt and wife Christa also of Tyler, Texas. He had five grandchildren Brennan Shuler, Mason Wyatt, Carly Wyatt, Katie Shuler, and Claire Wyatt all of Tyler. Mike is also survived by his brothers Jim Wyatt and wife Pam of Kenney, Texas and Doug Wyatt and wife Sherrie of Tyler, Texas. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Mike graduated from John Tyler High School in 1967. During his school years he played the drum in the Marching Band. He attended Tyler Junior College. While a high school student Mike began his working career at Brookshire’s Grocery Company. During his tenure at Brookshires he began as a carryout boy and worked his way up to Manager of the Produce Department. Following his time at Brookshires he went to work for the Orrowheat Bread Company in Dallas, Texas and then spent a brief stint in the oil field and concluded his working career as a route salesman with Hostess and Little Debbie. In 1993 Mike took early retirement due to health.
Mike was an avid follower of sports and always had an opinion about the Aggies, the Astros, and the Apaches. He was a long-time active member of Midway Baptist Church, where he co-led his Sunday School class and sang in the choir. Mike loved following the many activities of his kids and grandkids, from music to sports, to church, and scouts. He also loved any family get together. He was often the first to arrive and would let everyone know if they were late. Mike loved to have a good time by joking with his family members and friends and will be sorely missed by all.
