Graveside services for Mary L. Bowen, 103, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Rev. Pike Wisner officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bowen passed away on Sunday August 5, 2012 in Tyler.
She was born on May 1, 1909 in Henderson to the late Virgil Houston and Maggie Louise Noble Sparkman. She retired at 65 as a bookkeeper for Hearthstone Nursing Home and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cooper Bowen, brother, Houston Sparkman and half-sister, Archie Bell Jones.
She is survived by her sisters, Jewel Sparkman and Norma Ware; niece, Cookie Ware Gauntt and nephews, George Ware, Donald Sparkman and wife Virginia and Jerry Sparkman and wife Jaynee and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 301 W. Ferguson, Tyler, 75702.
