Kenneth David Ward

Preceded in death by Tawanna Ward, his wife of 20 years, his parents Bill and Mary Ward, brothers Barry and Gary Ward and grandson James Brantley Odom.

He is survived by his sisters Sherry Thomas, Cindy Blackmon and Patricia Berry and brother Larry Ward; daughters Brandy Luce and Melissa Long, God-daughter Sarah Milling; son-in-law Justin Long; granddaughters Ava and Charlee Odom, Grace Hornby, Glory Odom, Lucy Long and Jessica Long; grandsons Jarrett Long and Daymon Odom and many nieces and nephews.

Ken graduated valedictorian from John Tyler High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Texas A&M University, a Master’s of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, an honorary member of Mensa and was recently working toward a Master’s of Science degree in Applied Statistics. He retired from teaching Mathematics after 24 years with Tyler ISD and was currently an Associate Professor at Texas College.

Ken was an avid lover of music and was a very talented songwriter and guitar player.

Memorial services will be 2pm Sunday July 30, 2023 at Tyler memorial Funeral Home with visitation at 12pm.
