Kenneth Carl Branch, 82, of Cataula, Georgia died at his home on Monday, December 20, 2021. His loving wife of 62 years, Mary Arlene Branch died on Christmas Eve just four days after her loving husband. She was giving him time to prepare a place for her in heaven to be by his side.
He was born in Winona, Texas son of the late Elizabeth Pickett Branch and Walter Carl Branch.
She was born in Longstreet, Louisiana daughter of the late Ora Hensley Moore and John Lathan Moore.
Kenneth met the love of his life, Mary Arlene, in 1959. They dated for about three weeks and were engaged for three to four months. The happy couple married on December 19, 1959. After they were married Arlene as she was known by those close to her, told everyone that she was now “Mrs. B”.
Arlene and Kenneth were Christian by faith and shared their love for Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel as Missionaries. They traveled throughout the world on mission trips. They were very passionate through Mission Columbus and Hope Givers. Kenneth and Arlene were members of Calvary Baptist Church of Columbus. Together they loved square dancing, for which they won numerous awards. Going on cruises together and trips to watch the Columbus Cottonmouths. Kenneth was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and Atlanta Braves fan as well.
Kenneth and Arlene are survived by their adopted son Bert Arnold and his wife Karen; grandchildren: Amber (Kris) Lombard, Abbie Arnold and Ashton Arnold, Ariah Banks and Ethan Smith; great grandchildren: Issac Bees, Cassi Bees, Olivia Lombard and Phoenix Lombard; Kenneth’s siblings: Jean Brady, Tyler, TX, Diane Branch, Carrollton, TX, Larry Branch, Carrollton, TX , Tommy Branch, Lumberton, TX, Carla McGregor, Louisville TX; Arlene’s great nephews: James Matthews, Tim Matthews, Nathan Matthews, and Joshua Matthews.
A funeral service for Kenneth and Arlene will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby. Burial will be in Tyler, Texas at Harris Creek Cemetery later in the week.
