Justin passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his home in Tyler. He will be laid to rest at Bascom Cemetery in Tyler. A family memorial is planned for a later date.
Justin was born on September 30, 1980, to James B. Rakestraw and Debbie Conant. He lived in the Tyler area all his life and graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1999 where he played football and baseball. Justin worked part time during High School at Summit Mirror & Glass. He continued working after High School as a Glazer. Justin loved to fish, day and night. He also loved to deer hunt and squirrel hunt. Justin was passionate about welding and had a great artistic drawing hand.
Justin was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Rakestraw, January 18, 2014, grandfather, Thurman Conant, March 10, 2022, and grandmother, Gertrude Conant, November 22, 2022.
He is survived by his parents, James B. and Debbie Rakestraw; daughters, Macy and Ava Rakestraw; sister, Jamie Sisson, all of Tyler. Grand daughter; Ivy Guzman; Aunts; Pam and Tammi Rakestraw of Tyler; Uncles; Tommy Cagle of Tyler, David (Bubba) Conant of Hallsville, nieces and a nephews; Elizabeth, Mallory, and Blake Sisson of Tyler; Julianna Sipes of Henderson, Annamarie Walker of Kilgore and Jeffrey Conant of Hallsville. He is survived by several other aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
