Services for June R. Elliott, 96, of Tyler will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Byrd officiating. A private burial will be held at Tyler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. June Reeves Elliott passed away, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born December 3, 1925, in Coahoma, Texas to Ruben and Pearl Grisham Reeves.
June graduated from Stanton Texas High School in 1943. She retired from the Smith County Clerk Office following a long and distinguished career.
June was a member of First Christian Church of Tyler; she was firm in her faith in Christ and was a godly example to her friends and family. She was a devoted volunteer and member of numerous Smith County Veteran and Historical organizations including but not limited to Welcome Home Soldiers, serving as Past President for the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Past President for the Camp Fannin Association. She was also a board member for the Camp Ford Historical Association and an active member of the Mollie Moore Davis Chapter of the UDC.
Everyone that met June quickly learned of her devotion of her family and love of history. She believed her faith in God and love of Jesus Christ molded her character and shaped her values. She enjoyed her many travels and vacations especially to Germany and Hawaii.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Pearl Reeves, her brother Robert C. Reeves and her husband Al.
She is survived by her loving family including her daughters Larue Elliott Decker (Alan), Kathy Elliott Rogers (Randy) and son Bruce Elliott (Susan); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two nephews and their families.
June was a devoted wife of Al (Levon), the love of her life and selflessly cared for him during the last year of his life. Our family is comforted that she, “Nina” is in heaven with her Lord and reunited with “Pap-Paw”.
