John Edwin Brookshire Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Rusty Welch.

John worked at several Walmart Stores in the East Texas area for several years. He also had other jobs in his life time.

John is survived by his wife, the former gospel singer, Martha Welch Brookshire, of Tyler; two sons, Dale Brookshire and wife Janet and Joseph Brookshire and wife Beck, of Longview; daughter, Jan Mills and husband Richard, of Longview; sister, Betty Varner Manasco of Gilmer; two stepsons, Allan Welch, of Tyler and Steve Welch and wife Shelly, of Whitehouse; stepdaughter, Dyane Garner and husband Doug, of Tyler; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Eitson and Rev. Tommy Brasher officiating.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 29, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
