Services for James Chester Loftis, 70, of Bullard are scheduled for 11:00am, Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Father Justin Braun officiating. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Loftis passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015, in Tyler.
He was born on June 18, 1944, in Hearne to the late Raymond and Cleo Loftis Moore. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning the Purple Heart. He later worked for Tyler Pipe, where he retired after 25 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stacy Moore and Ray Moore.
He is survived by his wife or 49 years, Sherma Loftis, of Bullard; daughters, Cassandra Loftis, of Tyler, Angela Loftis, of Austin and Sonya Loftis M.D., of Irving; sons, James Loftis Jr., of Dallas and Curtis Loftis and wife Teri, of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Andreas Pargulski, Jordyn Loftis, Kylie Loftis, Karly Loftis, Kelly Loftis, and Kassie Loftis; sister, Erma Becknell, of Stockland, California, and Ann White and husband Fisher, of Houston; and brother, Franklin Moore, of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-9pm Friday at Lloyd James.
