Mr. Howard was born on Sunday, September 1, 1918 in Turney to James Richmond and Ethel Stephens Howard and passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 in Tyler.
Mr. Howard served his country in the Pacific in the U S Navy Seabee's and was discharged in Okinawa at end of WWII. He was a locomotive engineer for the Cotton Belt Route, retiring in 1983. He successfully completed a correspondence course in automotive repair, which soon became his passion as well as lawnmower repair. He was an avid golfer from age 71 until he was 85.
Mr. Howard is survived by his son Jim Howard and wife Mary of Flint, grandchildren Kirsten Marie Thompson and husband Mike of Aurora, Colorado, Jana Michelle Miner and husband John of Silt, Colorado, James Colin Howard and wife Krissy of Centennial, Colorado, Tammy Alexander and husband Norman of Anna, Jimmy E. Wren Jr. of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Great-grandchildren David Wesson and wife Krystina of Denver, Colorado, Bailey Howard of Silt, Colorado, Kendall and wife Haley Howard of Centennial, Colorado, Lindsay Pasteka and husband Clay of Anna, and Aaron Alexander of Anna.
Great-great-grandchildren Tyler Wesson of Denver,Colorado, Kaj Wesson of Denver,Colorado, Kadence Wesson of Denver, Colorado and Rylan Alyse Alexander of Anna, nephews Steve Howard and Bob Bailey.
Preceded in death by his wife Ardelle Howard, and his parents James and Ethel Howard, brothers Richmond Howard, Warren Howard and nephews Bill Bailey, Ron Howard and niece Kathy Howard.
