Delma ‘Gene’ Folsom better known as Gene Folsom of Whitehouse, TX passed away on February 11, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born on August 31, 1937 to Forest and Buna Folsom in Center, TX and raised in Port Arthur, TX. He joined the US Navy for 22 years, where he retired in Whitehouse, TX. He was actively involved in Whitehouse Church of Christ, volunteering and delivering Meals on Wheels and enjoyed his morning walks around Lake Tyler. Admired by all his friends, neighbors, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents Forest Folsom and Buna Byford; Sister Katie Ward and Brother Doyce Folsom; Son and Daughter in Law Royce and Jenny Folsom; Grandsons Ayden Burran and Cole Singleton.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 64 years, Jane; daughter, Diana Busby, daughter Rhonda Dumas and husband Tim Dumas as well as sister, Fayrene Joy. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many adoptive grandchildren.
Services for Gene Folsom will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 in the Chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Nathan Adams officiating. Burial will be at Whitehouse Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 17th at Lloyd James Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim Dumas, Dusty Nichols, Chris Williams, Ricky Combs, Thomas Singleton, Chris Sells and Honorary pallbearer is Brandon Folsom.
