Memorial services for Diane Ohmes, 76, of Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in the chapel at Green Acres Baptist Church with Rev. John Nelson and Chaplain Martin Adamson officiating.
Diane passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015, in Tyler.
She was born on July 9, 1939 in Downing, Wisconsin to the late Harry Norman Nelson and Mildred Mae Williams Nelson. Diane was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. She served in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1960. She was stationed in Georgia and Japan. Diane graduated from Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas in 1975 with a degree in nursing. She worked in Kansas and Colorado. She moved to Tyler in 1980 and worked at East Texas Medical Center, retiring in 2004.
She is survived by daughter, Maria Dykes; sister, Jean Dudley; brother, John Nelson; grandson, Brady Dykes; nieces, Kristin Featherston and Amber Fowler; nephews, Clint Twomby, Tate Twomby, Blair Nelson, Christopher Nelson and Mike Nelson; and best friends, Leona Adamson, Martin Adamson and Marvin Adamson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Nelson.
