Clarence J. “C.J.” Bussell, age 84, of Tyler, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home surrounded, by his loving family. C.J. was born on February 27, 1927 in Farmersville, Texas to C.P. and Mary Kinard Bussell, they preceded him in death. He served his country as a Private First Class in the United States Army Air Corp where he was trained as a sharpshooter. Following his military service, C.J. married the love of his life, Mary Evelyn Caldwell and together they spent over 60 years making memories and raising their family until her passing in September 2009. C.J. worked his life as a farmer and was a member of the local Farmer’s Market. He loved to farm and to spend his free time fishing but those who knew him will remember him for the love he had for his family.
C.J. is survived by two sons, Stephen R. Bussell, and wife Sandy, of Tyler, and Danny C. Bussell, and wife Ida, of Tyler; one daughter, Sandra Bussell Morgan, and husband Dennis Peel, of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Services for C.J. Bussell will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Tyler Memorial Funeral with Neal Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park with Cole Bussell, Chase Bussell, David Charles Bussell, Donald R. Bussell, Charles Rocha, Chuck Roacha, and Luke Wilkins serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
