Beverly Ann Reeves was born October 10, 1939 in Dallas to Ernest Lee Jackson and Mary Emma Jackson and passed on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in Tyler. She grew up in Dallas and Duncanville. She graduated from Duncanville High School. After graduation she married Jess A. (Jay) Reeves on May 29, 1959 and was a devoted Army wife and mother. She loved her Lord. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler.
She loved music. She grew up practicing the piano and studied piano at Henderson State College, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She loved to sing. She sang with vocal groups in high school and with choirs at various Lutheran Churches where she was a member. Beverly was retired from Smith County Elections Administrations Department.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Emma Lee Jackson; grandmother, Minnie Walter; father, Ernest Jackson; mother, Mary Jackson; and aunt, Alice Looney.
Survivors are husband, LTC (Ret) Jess A. (Jay) Reeves, of Tyler; son LTC (Ret) Mark A. Reeves and wife, Lisa Sinclair Reeves, of Rineyville, Kentucky; son, Jeffrey W. Reeves and wife, Kimberly Waits Reeves, of Tyler; sisters, Ginny Horner, of Tyler and Susan Buntz and husband, Jeff, of Bullard; granddaughters, Elizabeth Katherine Reeves, of El Paso and Rebekah Dawn Reeves, of Rineyville, Kentucky; grandson, Jackson Allen Reeves and wife Sydnee Lovejoy Reeves of Minot, South Dakota; great-grandson, Aiden Allen Reeves, of Minot, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Beverly will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:30 A.M., at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Vic Wilmann and Mark Dahn officiating. There will be a private family burial prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Schaded, Jody Horner, Jeff Buntz, Jackson Reeves, Larry Krumm, Jerry Taylor, Sam Fechenbach, Carroll Sinclair and Bill Saxenmeyer.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M., on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the funeral home.
