Jane Louise Ehlers

Our beloved and beautiful wife, mother, daughter and sister, Jane Louise Ehlers, 47, of Eden, Idaho passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 20, 2013. Our hearts will have an empty space in the absence of her presence, but heaven has gained a beautiful light.

Jane was born to Charles and Carole Collins in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 8, 1965. She attended elementary school in: Beaufort, South Carolina; San Diego, California; Twenty-nine Palms, California and Fallbrook, California. Following graduation from Fallbrook High School, she attended two years of college at Palomar Community College, San Marcos, California and then graduated with a Bachelors of Education from Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska. Jane then taught kindergarten through third grade at Faith Lutheran School in Mountain Home, Idaho and later taught second grade at Hope Lutheran School in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Jane married David W. Ehlers of Eden, Idaho on November 26, 1994 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eden, Idaho. To this union were born two beautiful children, Jonathon (14) and Catherine (10). The birth of the children was a great joy and blessing to Jane and David.

After the birth of her children, Jane worked with the English as a Second Language (ESL) program through the College of Southern Idaho. That led to her last teaching position with Immanuel Lutheran School in Twin Falls, Idaho, where she taught Spanish to the first through fifth grades. Jane always had a love and passion to teach and see it make a difference in children’s lives. In addition to teaching, she served at different positions at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eden, including teaching midweek school and as their Sunday School Superintendent. Jane always had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jane was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents and also her mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Karen Ehlers of Eden, Idaho. Jane is survived by her husband, David W. Ehlers and children, Jonathon and Catherine Ehlers of Eden; three sisters, Jennifer Collins (Dennis Lack) of Fallbrook, California; Julie (Byron Scott) of East Wenatchee, Washington; and Jeanette (Todd Waddell) of Bend, Oregon; one brother, Edward Collins (Lisa) of Alamogordo, New Mexico; her parents, Charles and Carole Collins of Twin Falls, Idaho; and three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services for Jane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2055 Filer Ave. East, Twin Falls with Pastor Alexander Lissow officiating. A gathering for family and friends will take place on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at White Mortuary, 136 4th Ave. East, Twin Falls. A private family burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.

Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at White Mortuary, Chapel by the Park, Twin Falls, ID.
