Born Shirley Ruth Taylor in Jasper, Alabama on August 28, 1935. The oldest of six children. She was a 1953 graduate of McAdory High School. After graduation she married her husband, Roscoe, who joined the airforce and they spent nine years living on various bases. In those years many friendships and memories were made of which she talked about often throughout her life. After leaving the military they made their home on "Chigger Ridge Road" in Brookwood, Al. As her health declined she moved into her daughter's home in Tuscaloosa, Al.
Shirley lived a blessed life as a housewife and stay at home mom. She took those roles very seriously. She loved to talk to everyone, especially her children's friends and learn all about their lives. She loved Alabama football. She looked forward to every day at 2:00pm when the Paul Finebaum show would come on. She either loved him or disliked him depending on what he had to say about Alabama.
Shirley was an excellent cook. She loved trying new recipes and had a closet full of cookbooks. She also loved riding with her husband, a trucker, especially when it took him to Texas where her sister and other family lived. After her husband's passing she would often sit and reflect on her journey with him and the many places they visited.
If you looked up the definition of mother in the dictionary it would say Shirley Price. She was the best wife, mother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law and friend that anyone could ever have. She will truly be missed and the holes in her family and friends hearts can't be filled until we see her again.
Pallbearers will be Zach Price, Stone Price, Tyler Price, Nate Price, Landon Price, Jeffrey Humphryes, Brooks Bentley and Mark Bentley
