Shirley Ann Bonner Bradley, 79, of Duncanville, was called to her heavenly home on February 16, 2021. A private graveside service will be held at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, with Rev. Bart Latner officiating. Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity provider, is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Katie Bonner, husband of forty years John Marion Bradley, and siblings Sue Earnest, Lucious Bonner, Bessie Jones, George Bonner, John Henry Bonner, Eva Kimbrell, James Bonner, Vera Ard, Clarence Bonner, Willard Bonner and Rilla Willcutt.
Shirley is survived by three children: Miriam (Chris) McGee, Cynthia (Johnny) Dorough, Craig (Lisa) Bradley and two wonderful grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy, Justin (Cady) Bradley and Kayla Bradley.
She was selfless, extremely hardworking, and a simple woman, always sacrificing for her family whom she loved so dearly. She was a completely devoted, loving, and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley will forever be remembered for her immaculate yard and beautiful flowers! She was a true example of what it means to have, not just one but, two green thumbs.
Shirley served the Lord in her church nursery for 35 plus years at Gilgal Baptist Church, and received special recognition in 2019 for her dedication and years of service. She loved keeping children in her home and nurturing them up to their school years. A special hobby was working with (beautiful and challenging) jigsaw puzzles. She had an amazing work ethic, great strength, determination to complete everything to its fullest, and was an awesome inspiration to her family.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Justin Bradley, Durwin Earnest, Bryan Jones, Ellis Ray Jones, Johnny Dorough and Chris McGee.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice of West Alabama; the awesome Physicians, Nurse Practioners & Staff of Cardiology Consultants PC; (Dr Hill for taking care of Mother over the years; Dr Carraway for the last few months of her life); Dr Scott Kemp and Amy Wyatt of North River Primary Care Associates, and Lauren Lee and Staff of Moundville Health & Rehabilitation. Special friends Joyce Williams and Betty Gray.
May we all strive daily to live the walk of life as our mother (and father before her) did! We love and miss them dearly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gilgal Baptist Church or Hospice of West Alabama.
